Test your headset microphone
Click Test my microphone, allow access, and talk into the headset boom mic. If the volume bar moves, the headset mic works. If you have more than one input, pick the headset from the dropdown that appears.
Headset mic not working?
- Check the inline mute switch on the cable or earcup.
- For a single 4-pole 3.5mm jack, use a combo headset port or a splitter — a separate mic-only jack will not carry mic + audio.
- USB headsets appear as their own input device: select it in Windows Sound → Input or macOS Sound → Input.
- See the full guides: Windows · Mac.
Test the earpieces
Use the speaker / sound test to play left, right and both-channel tones and confirm both sides of the headset work.
